HOW DOES 2-1-1 WORK?   
                                                                            
United Way 2-1-1 or 866-892-9211 is a helpline that connects people with important community services to meet everyday needs and the immediate needs of people in crisis. 
 
It can be accessed by a phone or computer which connects you to a community resource specialist in your area who can put you in touch with local organizations.
 
Dialing 211 helps direct callers to services for, among others, the elderly, the disabled, those who do not speak English, those with a personal crisis, those with limited reading skills, and those who are new to their communities.
