Day of Caring

United Way's annual Day of Caring brings together energetic volunteers to complete community service projects throughout Lancaster county and is one the largest, single-day volunteer efforts in our communities.

Our annual Day of Caring offers businesses, individuals, organizations and civic clubs the opportunity to help local nonprofit human service agencies accomplish much-needed projects during one day of organized volunteerism.

Volunteer work teams choose from a list of projects available during the time of the event. Groups helping to complete projects are only required to provide personal items and labor.  You must contact the UWLC office to confirm the adoption of the project of your choice.  Projects range from paining, cutting grass, washing windows, raking leaves, etc.

This project usually takes place in the spring.
