United Way of Lancaster County brings together our county's nonprofits, businesses, schools and volunteers. We identify key areas of need and create community-based and community-led solutions that provide everyone in our county with a clear path to success. We invite you to learn more about the following initiatives and programs that improve the lives of thousands of people in our county.  Find help below.

2-1-1

An easy to remember, three digit telephone number that connects people with important community services to meet everyday needs and the immediate needs of people in crisis. It is a resource for finding assistance in your local community.

Community Garden

A partnership with Lancaster County Parks and Recreation to provide free produce to Lancaster residents. This initiative allows a place for people of all ages to garden - those that may not have the yard to do so at their home or for those who enjoy gardening with other people.

Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program

This program provides free tax preparation services to individuals and families. Returns are processed by certified tax preparers who help families maximize their refund and save taxpayers the expense of professional tax preparation services.

Prescription Assistance Programs

We have two prescriptions savings programs, Coast2Coast and FamilyWize. Both offer discounts and help local families save money on medical expenses.

Lancaster Area Coalition for the Homeless

L.A.C.H. is comprised of concerned citizens, civic leaders, law enforcement and other non-profit organizations who recognize a need for homeless services in our community. The coalition’s mission is to provide access to services that allow homeless persons to improve their quality of life.
